The Purple Betta

I'm continuing to work on some betta pieces. I shared this to an artist group and I loved the feedback. People loved the vibrant colors. They loved the implied motion. I think that's one of my favorite things about this piece of art: the implied motion.

I love the first betta I did, from the side, but I am working on another betta in motion as well. My plan is to put them together with the two very fluid bettas sandwiching the more stationary, profile piece. I think that they'll all look very nice. 

I think I'm going to have them printed on metal: 4x6 pieces that I'll put into a shadow box or frame together. That will be very nice. I can't decide if I want to offer it as a set for people or if I just want to print them for myself. 

When I was a teenager I had a betta named Rainbow who was blue and purple and pink. My sister has asked me to create a betta that is similar in color (a challenge because it's been nearly 20 years since I've seen him and we don't have clear pictures). I'm also thinking about scrapping the first betta and doing three betta in motion, one colored like Rainbow. We'll see where this little art journey goes before I start getting tired of fish!
