What type of paint do you use most often and why? I have training with many different types of paint: acrylic, watercolor, oil, and gouache. I will occasionally do a mixed media of acrylic and watercolor. Since having my first child, a lot of my work has been digital art. When making physical art, I use acrylic. I find it to be an easy paint medium to use. I especially love the forgiving nature of acrylic paints. As I consider the ecological impact of my work, I am deeply considering using my acrylic supply (which is many years old, at this point) and transitioning to oil paints. I will see how this continues to develop in my work.
What is your process like? Check out the video that I've posted below - there's also a longer video on my About page! These videos give you a behind-the-scenes look into what my painting process is like. You can also see more progress videos and even lessons when you visit and subscribe to my Patreon (linked above in the main menu).
Do you offer private lessons? At this time, no. You can find some lessons available via my Patreon (linked above in the main menu).
Do you accept commissioned projects? Currently, I'm not accepting commissioned projects. When my commissions are open I maintain the right to turn down commissioned projects (if I can't do it, I can't do it and I'll let you know). Please don't ask about calligraphy projects - I will turn those down.
What are your payment terms? Full payment is required before a painting is delivered. One of the easiest ways to purchase my artwork is through my shop. I have finished artwork there. If you'd like to commission a piece of work, original art pieces have free shipping. I do accept payments on art through Paypal or Venmo and will provide a receipt/ invoice marking the payment.
Do you accept returns? On original pieces of art NOT sold through my shop, I do accept returns within 30 days (minus shipping costs).
Do you offer prints? Occasionally I will offer prints of an original. They will be available in my shop.
How do you start an art collection? Start buying what you love! There are often many affordable original art options out there - you just have to hunt for them. Etsy is a great place to find original, affordable artwork. You can also follow your favorite artists on social media and buy their available pieces. Two of my favorite artists are Kate Avery and Jim Musil.
Are you interested in being contacted by galleries or agents? Absolutely!
If there are any other questions that I didn't answer, please ask!
